Today, on the 22/12/2022, Solactive announces the following changes to the methodology of the following indices (the ‘Affected Indices’):

Rationale for Methodology Change
To enhance the scope of Pure Play- and Uranium Participation Companies as currently reflected in the methodology, Solactive decided to add investment trust to the below mentioned Definitions in Sections 4. Even though not structured as a company, trusts which invests primarily in physical uranium would meet the existing index definition from an exposure perspective.

“Pure Player” refers to a company where a significant part of the business operations is or is expected to be related to the uranium industry (in particular uranium mining, exploration for uranium, physical uranium investments and technologies related to the uranium industry). Furthermore, companies with an investment focus on the uranium sector are also considered as pure players.

“Uranium Participation Company” refers to a company that invest directly in assets in uranium, either in the form of uranium oxide in concentrates (‘U3O8’) or uranium hexafluoride (‘UF6’) (collectively ‘uranium’), with the primary investment objective of achieving appreciation in the value of its uranium holdings.
